2011 Homecoming
The Beta Alpha Chapter celebrated it’s 2011 Homecoming at Oak Meadow Country Club on October 8th. The chapter welcomed our alumni back for a wonderful evening filled with excitement. The annual ugly tie auction was a success with one of the three ties earning over $1,000 for the chapter. In addition, alumni could bid for old cudgel pieces. The most exciting part of this year’s Homecoming celebration was the scholarships given out. This year, 35 scholarships totaling over $32,000 were given to those deserving or in need of financial aid.
2011 Convivium
In honor of the birth of the Order’s “spiritual founder”, Robert E. Lee, our annual celebration was held at Zeno’s Steakhouse on January 22nd. In attendance, we had the Beta Alpha active chapter in its entirety, many Beta Alpha alumni, and the Chiles Province Commander, Jim Schmuck. The occasion included the awarding of several scholarships for academic achievement and the recognition of those who have stood out in the past semester. After a fabulous dinner, recent Alumnus, Zachery Flageolle gave a very insightful speech about the excellence our chapter aims for every year, and the evening ended with the traditional toast to Robert E. Lee. The night was fine a remembrance of the man who inspired the values and beliefs of our Order.
